Joyson Dass—InterNACHI Certified Professional Inspector(CPI)®, Texas Real Estate Commission Licensed (TREC) Professional Inspector, and Texas Department of Agriculture Licensed Termite Technician
Joyson Dass is the owner and inspector of American Star Inspection Group PLLC. A spirited passion for the housing industry is undoubtedly a key component to leading a successful career as a home inspector—but that passion must be bolstered by sufficient knowledge and ability. Joyson has spent decades in continual pursuit of furthering his education and experience with homes and their complexities. His work has paid dividends, elevating him to a position where he’s able to provide comprehensive home inspections that every client can consider an asset.
Theory Put to Practice
Before he became a full-time home inspector, Joyson worked in many other areas of the housing industry and related trades. He holds degrees in civil engineering and construction management, specializations that formed the foundation for his career path. Qualified by his extensive education, Joyson worked as an engineering inspector, a home inspector, a builder and a consultant for over 30 years. During that time, he completed hundreds of engineering and home inspections—leading him to eventually open his own business.
Technique Meets Technology
American Star Inspection Group embraces cutting-edge technology to facilitate your needs:
A free thermal imaging scan is included with every home and commercial inspection
Drone photography is offered as an extra service to assist in the evaluation of inaccessible areas such as damaged or otherwise unsafe roofing systems
Other instruments used may include: a moisture meter, spectoscope (for inspecting inaccessible areas), and high precision altimeter (for qualifying uneven or sunken floors and related issues)
It Begins and Ends With Communication
For Joyson, good communication isn’t just a concept—it’s a practice. He welcomes every client to be present for their inspection so that he can demonstrate the process and explain key issues. If availability is a problem, Joyson offers weekend and evening appointments to compensate. After the inspection is over, remaining questions or concerns that are late to emerge can always be addressed by phone—even if the inspection took place weeks before.
